Action Incubator

The "Action Incubator" is an incubator for learning, developing, and producing dance works in collaboration with people from diverse populations. The incubator is a study program for professional choreographers designed to refine and deepen theoretical and practical knowledge regarding working with performers of various abilities and backgrounds, including youth, older adults, and people with disabilities. The program aims to create deep change in the field of choreography and contemporary dance in Israel and to promote its development into an inclusive, socially and artistically innovative field that encompasses diverse populations, cultures, aesthetic approaches, and representations.

We aim to lead the professionalization and refinement of this type of artistic practice in Israel according to global trends and international artistic standards, and additionally to operate within the local dance field to challenge existing hierarchies and perceptions.

The "Action Incubator" has been operating at Kelim since 2022, and from 2023 onwards in an expanded format as a collaboration between the Kelim Choreography Center and Mifal HaPais.

The instructors in the incubator are leading lecturers from the fields of art, cultural studies, community, activism, disabilities, and more, including researchers Dr. Tal Feder, Tzofia Malav, Nira Mozar, Dr. Nili Broier, Dr. Chen Alon, and Dr. Dror Harari, among others, alongside meetings with lecturers who are practicing artists and managers in the field such as Raba Morkos, Chai Cohen, Sigal Bergman, Galit Lis and the 'Gila' workshops, Moran Dubshni and Yuval Bienstock, Ilanit Tadmor, Yasmin Goder.
